2026-05-19 — Genentech (Roche Group) announced it will present new data at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting (May 29–June 2, Chicago) spanning nine approved and investigational medicines across 15+ cancer indications, with a major focus on the investigational oral selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) giredestrant for ER-positive/HER2-negative breast cancer (~70% of cases).
Key breast cancer updates include: (1) Phase III lidERA: previously reported 30% reduction in risk of invasive disease recurrence or death; new ASCO analyses will assess consistency of efficacy/safety across pre- vs post-menopausal patients; data submitted to FDA. (2) Phase III persevERA: primary results of giredestrant + palbociclib as first-line therapy in locally advanced/metastatic disease; study missed its primary endpoint but showed a numerical PFS improvement in endocrine-sensitive patients. (3) Phase III evERA: post-progression analyses of giredestrant + everolimus; FDA has accepted an NDA based on positive evERA data.
Genentech will also present early Phase Ic expansion results for ZN-A-1041 (brain-penetrant HER2 TKI) combinations in pretreated HER2+ metastatic breast cancer, and pipeline data including divarasib + pembrolizumab in KRAS G12C+ NSCLC and SUNMO results for Lunsumio + Polivy in relapsed/refractory DLBCL, supporting potential chemotherapy-free regimens.
