May 28, 2026 — Eli Lilly and Company announced it will present new cardiometabolic data at the American Diabetes Association’s 86th Scientific Sessions (June 5–8, New Orleans) and host an investor event on June 6 (6:00 p.m. CDT).
Key clinical updates include pivotal Phase 3 results for investigational retatrutide (weekly GIP/GLP-1/glucagon triple agonist): in TRIUMPH-1, weight loss up to an average 70.3 lbs (28.3%) at 80 weeks in adults with obesity; in TRANSCEND-T2D-1, A1C reductions up to 2.0% and weight loss up to 36.6 lbs (16.8%) at 40 weeks in adults with type 2 diabetes.
For Foundayo (orforglipron), Lilly highlighted Phase 3 ACHIEVE data supporting an oral GLP-1 with no food/water restrictions: ACHIEVE-2 showed A1C reduction up to 1.7% vs 0.8% for dapagliflozin at 40 weeks; ACHIEVE-3 reported superior A1C reduction vs oral semaglutide and 73.6% greater relative weight loss at 52 weeks; ACHIEVE-5 showed A1C reduction up to 2.1% vs 0.8% placebo with insulin glargine at 40 weeks. Sub-analyses (ATTAIN) suggested >14% weight reduction in peri-/post-menopausal women and improvements in insulin sensitivity/beta-cell function. These data support Lilly’s strategy to broaden therapeutic options in diabetes and obesity.
