VK2735 - (VENTURE)

April 29, 2026: Viking Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: VKTX) reported 1Q26 financial results and provided pipeline updates highlighting several upcoming obesity-program catalysts. For VK2735 (dual GLP-1/GIP agonist) in obesity, the Phase 3 VANQUISH registration program of once-weekly subcutaneous dosing is fully enrolled: VANQUISH-1 (adults with obesity; >4,500 enrolled, enrollment completed Nov 2025) and VANQUISH-2 (adults with obesity + type 2 diabetes; ~1,000 enrolled, enrollment completed in 1Q26). Both are 78-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials with primary endpoint percent change in body weight at Week 78 and secondary/exploratory responder thresholds (≥5/10/15/20% weight loss), plus a one-year extension.

Viking expects to initiate a Phase 3 trial of oral tablet VK2735 for obesity in 4Q26 (following an end-of-Phase 2 FDA meeting in Dec 2025). A VK2735 Phase 1 maintenance-dosing study (various weekly/every-other-week/monthly regimens) is ongoing, with results expected in 3Q26.

Viking filed an IND for amylin agonist VK3019 in 1Q26 and plans to start a Phase 1 trial in 2Q26. Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments were $603 million at March 31, 2026.
