Oct. 1, 2026: AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) reported late-breaking Phase 3 Viti-Up-1 and Viti-Up-2 data for RINVOQ (upadacitinib 15 mg once daily) in adult and adolescent patients with non-segmental vitiligo eligible for systemic therapy, presented at the 2026 EADV Congress in Vienna.
In the ongoing open-label extension, repigmentation continued to improve from week 48 to week 76. In Viti-Up-1, F-VASI 75 rose from 33.1% to 55.1% and T-VASI 50 from 29.2% to 42.5%; in Viti-Up-2, F-VASI 75 increased from 27.6% to 47.4% and T-VASI 50 from 26.2% to 40.1%.
A 28-week phototherapy substudy in 84 adults who had not achieved T-VASI 90 at week 48 showed numerically higher responses with RINVOQ plus whole-body NB-UVB phototherapy versus RINVOQ alone. Among prior placebo patients, F-VASI 75/T-VASI 50 were 46.7%/33.3% with combination therapy vs 40.0%/20.0% with monotherapy; among prior RINVOQ patients, rates were 59.3%/63.0% vs 37.0%/33.3%.
Safety through week 76 and in the substudy was consistent with known upadacitinib safety, with no new safety signals. The release says RINVOQ is approved in the EU for NSV and is under U.S. FDA regulatory review for this indication.
