October 5, 2026: Assembly Biosciences (NASDAQ: ASMB) said new Phase 1a data for ABI-6250 will be presented in two posters at AASLD The Liver Meeting 2026 on November 7, 2026. ABI-6250 is an investigational oral NTCP inhibitor being developed for chronic hepatitis delta virus (HDV) infection and cholestatic liver diseases including primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC).
In the randomized, blinded Phase 1a study in healthy participants, ABI-6250 was reported to be well tolerated at evaluated doses, with no serious adverse events, and showed dose-dependent, reversible increases in total and conjugated bile acids consistent with NTCP target engagement. One poster on pharmacodynamic findings was designated a “Poster of Distinction.”
Assembly Bio said the Phase 1a findings support plans to start Phase 2 studies in chronic HDV infection in Q4 2026 and in cholestatic liver diseases, focused on PBC and PSC, in Q1 2027.
