September 27, 2026: HUTCHMED (Nasdaq/AIM:HCM; HKEX:13) announced initiation of the Phase Ia portion of a global first-in-human Phase I trial of HMPL-A830 in patients with unresectable, advanced or metastatic solid tumors; the first patient was dosed in China on September 24, 2026.
HMPL-A830 is described as a first-in-class antibody-targeted therapy conjugate combining a KRAS small-molecule inhibitor payload with an anti-EGFR antibody. The open-label, multicenter study will assess safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and preliminary efficacy. The Phase Ia dose-escalation portion is intended to identify the maximum tolerated dose and recommended dose for expansion, followed by dose expansion/optimization in selected solid tumors. Trial identifier: NCT07718581.
The release highlights potential relevance to KRAS-altered tumors, including colorectal, pancreatic, and lung cancers, but reports no clinical efficacy or safety data yet.
The company also noted that on September 3, 2026, its subsidiary entered an exclusive development and license agreement with a GSK subsidiary. GSK received rights outside Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan; HUTCHMED will run the global Phase I program, while GSK will handle later development and commercialization ex-territory, subject to customary closing conditions including antitrust review.
