Sept. 21, 2026: Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ: LABT) said it is preparing to initiate a Phase 2a trial of Nu-3 Gel in infected diabetic foot ulcers. The company reported positive preclinical safety/tolerability data showing low systemic exposure after topical administration and no interference with natural wound healing, supporting selection of 2%, 5%, and 10% doses for the Phase 2a study. It also said Nu-3 showed rapid, broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against multidrug-resistant pathogens in preclinical studies without generating resistance in comparative testing. David G. Armstrong was named Study Chair and Scientific Advisor, and the trial will be led by PERI.

The update also covered corporate milestones: the company listed on Nasdaq on April 23, 2026, and completed a private placement of Series C convertible preferred stock for about $7.5 million in gross proceeds. On Sept. 18, it filed a registration statement covering shares issuable on conversion of remaining preferred shares. At its Sept. 22 annual meeting, shareholders are being asked to approve an increase in authorized common shares and authorize a reverse split of up to 1-for-20, which the company said it would use only if needed to maintain Nasdaq listing.
