August 20, 2026: Ionis Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: IONS) said new cardiometabolic data will be presented at the ESC Congress 2026 (August 28–31, Munich). For TRYNGOLZA (olezarsen), presentations include one-year data from an open-label, long-term extension study in severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG). TRYNGOLZA was approved by the FDA in June 2026 in the U.S. for adults with sHTG to reduce triglycerides and the risk of acute pancreatitis; an EMA application for sHTG is under review, with Sobi holding EU commercialization rights. The company also noted TRYNGOLZA is approved in the U.S., EU and other countries for familial chylomicronemia syndrome.

For ION775, an investigational APOC3-targeting siRNA in hypertriglyceridemia, Ionis will present single-dose, 12-month Phase 1 data in participants with moderate hypertriglyceridemia. Ionis said ION775 is now being studied in Phase 2 for sHTG.

Separately, Ionis and AstraZeneca will present data from the Phase 3 CARDIO-TTRansform trial of eplontersen in transthyretin-mediated amyloid cardiomyopathy, including a detailed Phase 3 analysis, a subgroup analysis in patients receiving stabilizers, and an independent meta-analysis of eplontersen plus another silencer therapy in combination with stabilizers.
