August 17, 2026: Evaxion A/S (NASDAQ: EVAX) announced EVX-05, an off-the-shelf therapeutic vaccine program for glioblastoma, developed using its AI-Immunology platform from patient tumor samples and targeting conserved endogenous retrovirus-derived antigens shared across patients. The company is collaborating with Duke University School of Medicine, and Professor Mustafa Khasraw’s team is expected to conduct initial clinical testing, potentially including a Phase 1 trial.

The update is a preclinical/pipeline expansion milestone: Evaxion said it is optimizing a lead vaccine candidate to advance EVX-05 toward initial clinical testing. The company described glioblastoma as a high-mortality cancer with major unmet need and positioned EVX-05 as a novel therapeutic approach.

Evaxion also said EVX-05 builds on the same ERV-targeting concept as EVX-04 in acute myeloid leukemia. Separately, EVX-03 has been discontinued and removed from the R&D pipeline as a portfolio management decision.

Financially, Evaxion said EVX-05 will be funded within existing budgets and does not change its cash runway, which it expects to extend into the second half of 2027.

Upcoming catalyst: management will discuss EVX-05 during its Q2 2026 business update and financial results conference call/webcast on August 20, 2026.
