NPM-139 - (SLIM-1)

August 13, 2026: Vivani Medical (NASDAQ: VANI) reported that all 20 participants have been enrolled and successfully dosed in SLIM-1, its first-in-human Phase 1 trial of NPM-139, a subdermal semaglutide implant for chronic weight management. The Australia study compares low-dose NPM-139 in 10 GLP-1-naïve participants with starting-dose Wegovy in 10 participants over four weeks, assessing safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and weight change. Top-line SLIM-1 data are expected in November 2026; the company plans an IND submission to support a proposed Phase 2 dose-ranging trial in 2027.

NPM-139: In July 2026, Vivani signed a non-exclusive agreement with Novo Nordisk to evaluate NPM-139 and Vivani’s NanoPortal technology. No exclusivity provisions apply.

Cortigent: In July 2026, Vivani’s subsidiary Cortigent entered a definitive merger agreement with ClearOne. Closing is expected in Q3 2026, subject to customary conditions and financing, with the post-merger company expected to be renamed Cortigent Holdings and trade on Nasdaq as CRGT.

Vivani also noted Bellberry HREC approval on June 25, 2026 to initiate SLIM-1.
