27 July 2026: AstraZeneca’s H1/Q2 2026 results highlighted multiple catalyst events across oncology, biopharma and rare disease. Positive Phase III readouts were reported for Imfinzi ± Imjudo in EMERALD-3 (locoregional HCC) and VOLGA (muscle-invasive bladder cancer), tozorakimab in OBERON/TITANIA/MIRANDA (COPD), sonesitatug vedotin in CLARITY-Gastric01 (2L+ Claudin 18.2+ gastric cancer), Ultomiris in I CAN (IgA nephropathy), and efzimfotase alfa in HICKORY/CHESTNUT/MULBERRY (hypophosphatasia).

Key data disclosed: VOLGA met its primary endpoint, with clinically meaningful EFS and OS improvement for Imfinzi + enfortumab vedotin, and clinically meaningful EFS improvement plus an OS trend for Imfinzi + EV + Imjudo. CLARITY-Gastric01 met its primary endpoint with highly clinically meaningful OS improvement in patients with at least 2 prior therapies, and a key secondary endpoint with OS benefit in patients with at least 1 prior therapy; PFS showed a trend but was not statistically significant. In I CAN, Ultomiris showed a 43% reduction in proteinuria in IgAN, seen as early as 10 weeks. CARDIO-TTRansform for Wainua in ATTR-CM did not meet its primary endpoint, though monotherapy showed nominal statistical benefit; data will be presented at ESC in August.

Regulatory milestones included first approvals for new indications for Enhertu, Datroway, Imfinzi, Truqap, Etcamah and Breztri, plus filings submitted for Zegfrovy in 1L EGFR exon 20 insertion NSCLC. Upcoming catalysts named for H2 2026 include TROPION-Lung15, SAFFRON, AVANZAR, SERENA-4, PACIFIC-9, and ERS Phase III data for tozorakimab.
