BL1107 (WB007)

July 9, 2026: Bausch + Lomb Corporation (NYSE/TSX: BLCO) reported topline results from a randomized, double-masked Phase 2 trial of BL1107 eye drops in 159 adults with primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The study failed to meet the primary endpoint (change from baseline in visual field mean deviation at Day 28 [Exit, Hour 2]) and did not achieve key secondary visual function endpoints (including low-luminance best-corrected visual acuity responder rates). A secondary endpoint indicating ocular target engagement was met, with reduced intraocular pressure at Day 28 (Exit, Hour 2). Safety was consistent with prior experience and no new safety signals were identified.

Based on the totality of data, the company will discontinue advancing BL1107 as a topical eye drop for glaucoma-related vision improvement.

Separately, Bausch + Lomb will continue developing BL1107 (originally WB007, from its 2025 Whitecap Biosciences acquisition) as a small-molecule sustained-release implant with a primary focus on geographic atrophy (GA), in collaboration with Ripple Therapeutics. Clinical trials for the GA implant are expected to begin in 2028.
