Details

July 1, 2026: Can-Fite BioPharma Ltd. (NYSE: CANF; TASE: CANF) reported results from an open-label Phase 2a study of Namodenoson in advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients who had progressed after standard therapies. The trial enrolled 20 patients (14 third-line, five second-line, one fourth-line). The study met its primary safety endpoint; Namodenoson was well tolerated with a safety profile consistent with prior trials.

With extended follow-up, the company provided an updated overall survival (OS) analysis in a third-line subset of eight patients who survived at least two months after starting treatment. In this evaluable group, median OS exceeded 5 months; 62.5% survived ≥5 months and 37.5% survived ≥7 months. Two patients were alive at data cutoff (one still on treatment); disease control included progression-free survival beyond seven months. In the second-line cohort, one patient remained alive >18 months from treatment initiation (longest survivor in the study).

Based on these findings, Can-Fite plans to advance Namodenoson into a Phase 2b combination study with chemotherapy, supported by recently published preclinical data suggesting enhanced chemotherapy activity in pancreatic cancer models.
