July 1, 2026: NewAmsterdam Pharma Company N.V. (NASDAQ: NAMS) announced it will present data at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2026 (July 12–15, 2026; London) highlighting the potential of its oral, low-dose CETP inhibitor obicetrapib for prevention of early Alzheimer’s disease, including results from a pre-specified Alzheimer’s biomarker analysis from the Phase 3 BROADWAY trial.
AAIC 2026 presentations (BROADWAY-based):
- Oral (July 13, 2026, 9:30 AM BST): “Predictors of P-tau217 in Cardiovascular Patients: Insights from the Broadway Trial.”
- Posters (July 14–15, 2026): “Undiagnosed Alzheimer’s Pathology in Cardiovascular Patients…”; “ApoE4-Dependent Dose Response to CETP Inhibition…”; “CETP Inhibition for Alzheimer’s Prevention…”
BROADWAY Alzheimer’s biomarker analysis: In 1,535 patients (including 367 ApoE4 carriers), obicetrapib showed statistically significant lower absolute changes in plasma p-tau217 vs placebo over 12 months in the full analysis set (p=0.025) and ApoE4 carriers (p=0.022), with favorable trends in other biomarkers (NFL, GFAP, p-tau181, Aβ42/40). The analysis was not controlled for baseline differences; adjustments were made for baseline biomarker values and age. BROADWAY safety was described as comparable to placebo.
The release also notes the Phase 3 PREVAIL cardiovascular outcomes trial randomized over 9,500 patients and completed enrollment in April 2024.
