June 25, 2026: NeuroSense Therapeutics Ltd. (NASDAQ: NRSN) reported positive biomarker findings from its Phase 2 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled exploratory proof-of-concept RoAD study (NST-AD-001) of PrimeC in Alzheimer’s disease. The trial enrolled eight participants randomized to PrimeC or placebo; three participants completed 12 months of follow-up with CSF and plasma collected at three timepoints.
Plasma biomarker analyses showed multiple changes across neurodegenerative pathways, including Alzheimer’s hallmark biomarkers (brain-derived total tau, phospho-tau(s), and the amyloid-beta 42/40 ratio). Changes were also observed in alpha-synuclein (total, oligomeric, p129) and TDP-43 (total, p409), plus biomarkers of oxidative stress and inflammation. The company said these changes were directionally consistent with PrimeC’s proposed mechanism and aligned with biomarker effects previously observed in its ALS program, supporting potential target engagement.
NeuroSense reiterated previously reported RoAD safety/tolerability findings: no serious adverse events and no new or unexpected safety signals. Next, the company plans to use these findings to inform the design of a larger, adequately powered Alzheimer’s study and continue engagement with scientific and regulatory stakeholders.
